Fix Track Grouping

Fix Track Grouping is an extremely powerful feature that can help you:

1. Merge albums if you're having difficulty with our Merge Albums feature
   
2. Split multi-disc sets into individual albums
   
3. Merge multiple discs into one disc
   
4. Move tracks into a new disc
   
5. Rearrange tracks into their proper order
   
6. Rearrange discs into their proper order

In each case, while viewing the individual or multi-disc album, click Edit under the “3 dots” menu, then pick Fix Track Grouping.

Roon will automatically try and Identify albums after you Create Album. If they’re not automatically Identified, you can try and do it manually. See Identifying Album in the User Guide.

If You’re Trying to Merge Albums and are Having Difficulty

If you’ve come from Merge Albums and ran into trouble, the various instructions below should help you out.

Split Multi-Disc Set into Individual Albums

After selecting the multi-disc album you want to split, and in Fix Track Grouping, you will see all the discs in the multi-disc set on the left. Click all the discs that you DON’T want, then click Remove Disc. Don't worry, it won't delete the files in your folder. It may be necessary to Re-Number the remaining disc to 1. On the bottom right, you can Create Album, assuming everything looks right. Under the Artist, you should now see the individual album you just created. Repeat this procedure if you still have more albums to remove from the remaining multi-disc set.

Merge Multiple Discs into One Disc

With the multi-disc album selected and in Fix Track Grouping, you will see the disc list on the left side of the window. Click to select the discs you would like to combine and select Merge Discs. You will be asked to select the disc number of the combined discs. It may be necessary to rearrange and Re-Number the tracks on the right for the new disc.

Move Tracks into a New Disc

With a single album or multi-disc album selected and in Fix Track Grouping, you will see the tracks listed on the right side of the window. After highlighting in the desired disc on the left, you can now select the individual tracks that you would like to combine into a current or new disc. After selecting the tracks, click Move to Disc # and make your selection. After the move, you probably want to Re-Number Tracks for the remaining tracks. Finally click Create Album.

Rearrange Tracks into their Proper Order

With the album selected and in Fix Track Grouping, you will see the tracks listed on the right side of the window. If it’s a multi-disc set, highlight the disc you want to edit. On the right, you will see a 3 line icon beside each track. Click and holding the icon will allow you to drag it to the proper location. You can now Re-Number the tracks to correspond to their new location. Sort Tracks will sort them according to the current track number.

Rearrange Discs into their Proper Order

With the multi-disc album selected and in Fix Track Grouping, you will see the disc list on the left side of the window. You will see a 3 line icon beside each disc. Click and holding the icon will allow you to drag it to the proper location. You can now Re-Number the discs to correspond to their new location. Sort Discs will sort them according to the current disc number.
